We've been looking for good places to eat around Orange Park, and this place did not disappoint. It's nice and clean, has very friendly staff, and very good food.

AlRight this place seriously is a hidden gem a hidden idol the lost Atlantis! It was beyond delicious holy cow! Now that we have that done hehe. It's located right off blanding in the corner of the shopping center of Marshall's so it's tucked away but it's there! We always get there right after church so usually the only ones but believe me when everyone's outta church it's a small nice crowd. Keeps em busy !(: I had the chicken Parmesan sandwich and when she asks small or large. Trust me the small is you what you want unless your a man who eats the whole cow hahah so to speak. It's alittle messy but not to bad and a tad mushy but don't think it's not good. I had a tummy ache but soon as I but into this I felt Alive lol!!!! I ate the whole half of my large. ( save the other half later ) the French fries were amazing and the Baklava is to die for. My dad and mom go two types of gyros. Open faced which the mini pitaas come separate and you kind of put the meat on yourself and my mom got the GINORMOUS ( not kidding ) wrapped gyro. I've tried both and I loved em! The potato salad is on point too. Not to much of one ingrident. It's a simple decor though with pictures of Greece and a small mural or Greece. The staff is beyond friendly and let mileigh cause chaos -_- yep I've finally become a parent where people are looking at you like you can tell your toddler what to do. Nope vice versa! Haha. It was fast friendly service and I always look forward to eating here ! I highly recommend this !

The food is amazing. The owners are really nice, say hi to "Rula and Steve" for me. If you're really hungry try "Georgio's special", it comes with gyro meat, 2 pieces of chicken breast and 2 slices of pork loin but that's not all. You also get pita, tzatziki, soup or salad, and 2 sides like rice, potatoes or veggies. All that for just $14.99, its really enough food for 2 people. You will bring some home. ALWAYS ask if they have a special. It is often not on the menu, and is often the best most authentic and exciting Greek cuisine they have to offer that day. This place has something for everyone, it is GREAT flavorful food at a fair price. Rula said that, "Beer and Wine is coming soon."

I really wanted to like this place. Greek? Close to home? Sweetest staff ever? They definitely had a lot going for them. I ordered a beef & lamb gyro to go. The service was fast, so that was a plus. But when I got home, I was completely unimpressed. My gyro was covered in onion and tzatziki sauce. I mean, covered. I don't know if I've been spoiled by Nick the Greek in AB.. But this place left me bummed about my gyro. Their prices are totally reasonable, so I'm going to try eating in the establishment in the future in hopes that it was just the drive home that ruined my gyro. Here's to hoping I can give a better review in the future?

I eat here about once a week. Their Greek salad with chicken is to die for. I LOVE their feta! So much, that when I get feta anywhere else I am disappointed and left with this feeling that I am being punish for cheating on the Greek Village. Also! Their Baklava is so amazing it can make any bad day into a good day. The staff is amazing and Mama is the sweetest! She really does treat you like you are family.

Good food! Gyro soooo good could use more sauce and cucumbers but the sandwich is huge. Greek potatoes delish Greek salad pretty good..yummy feta Rice meal w chicken n shrimp is huge-hubby loved it. The feta-fabulous The ambiance is lacking-more like an old diner with picnic table type tablecloths. Has potential inside to be beautiful if redecorated Def casual.

Amazing place with friendly staff and a great selection of food. I always say whenever I go in I'm going to try something new but I smell the lamb in the kitchen and I can't help but get a gyro. The desserts are really great too, I had the lemon cake and it was fantastic.

The Greek Village is right by the dollar tree off Blanding in op. It is not the easiest to see from the road, but it is worth the trip if you like Greek food. I went with family the other day and the service was good, as was the food. I had a beef/lamb combo gyro and added feta (if you like feta I suggest adding it). I did see someone suggest in a tip to order extra sauce and I think next time I will try to remember to do that. The gyro was good, but I personally prefer my food saucier. Overall a pleasant experience and the leftovers warmed up well in the oven.

Shows promise, we arrived near closing time, did not feel particularly welcomed. NO ice tea, which is cardinal sin in the deep south! Humus appetizer way too much garlic, still next afternoon, doing noisy cartwheels in my ample gut. Main meals range from good greek salad & chicken steal to an absolutely delicious gyro meat diner and a jumbo sized gyro pita sandwich. Worth visiting again, in-spite of early faux pas, waitress made the difference.

Wonderful family that own and runs this authentic spot. One of our favorites ever. Greek salad is large and fresh with warm pittas alongside gyros are hot and yummy. Place is huge so a big crowd is no problem. Not in the best location as they sit back from the road but take the time to find them and you won't be disappointed.

Greek food is one of my favorite cuisines so I was excited to try this place when I discovered it near my job. On my first visit I ordered a Greek salad with gyro meat to go. I have to say I thought it was definitely overpriced. It cost $14, but was a big portion and came with pita and tzatziki. No grape leaves unfortunately though. The meat was pretty good, a little dry but still good. Loved their tzatziki sauce--super garlicky yum! Overall I enjoyed the salad, but from now on I order a regular gyro, or I get a side greek salad with a side of gyro meat (which ends up being more affordable with the same portion of meat and a smaller salad). Also, I love their traditional Greek lemon chicken soup. Very creamy and a great flavor. For just a couple of bucks I always order it to accompany my meal. All in all, I enjoy this place, but I would go there more often for lunch if the prices for their salads was better. I mean $12+ for a salad for a work lunch starts to add up! Add in a drink and tip and you're looking at a $17 meal for one.

First time here. Not a bad place but needs improvement. Seems like they had just opened. I was told that they are placing a grill outside so they can offer more items like grilled octopus, which is a personal favorite of mine. I will go back again and give them another try as they have potential to improve.

Great service. It's been quiet inside each time I have been. The food is great. I loved the gyro and also the lamb sandwich. The lemon soup is also very good. This definitely seems like a family owned restaurant which is fantastic!!

  • Heather P.

Started with a side Greek salad which was okay. Then had the village gyro (lamb and beef) the meat in it was delicious. It could have used less sauce and onions and more cucumbers. The fries it came with were good. Overall good food and it came out hot and fast.

  • Kat V.

Gyros are pretty good. But I tried their other stuff and it wasn't that great. I wanted to try the lamb shank but the waitress said oh well that's like $22 and I'm like.. Ok fine I'll have something else. Later she was rude since she saw my friend only ordered coffee since he met up with me later. Overall there are other places to go. Usually empty here

We thought this might be a hidden gem but sadly, it's not. The grape leaves were clearly canned and flavorless. The gyro was pretty average. Nothing special. My husband got the meat plate and the chicken and pork were dry. The restaurant needs a serious face lift.

True authentic Greek cuisine..This restaurant family owned and operated. The Gyros are delicious.

Been here eating gyros. Not too bad food and prices but very simple interface inside. Dirty tablecloths and modest furniture. Reminds me the dining room in the USSR. It's not bad...but it could be better.

OMG Great Greek Food! They have been in the area for years are experts on Real Greek food. They are building a patio area that is going to be so nice in the Fall and Winter.

Great food and the portions are HUGE, ask for Sasha she will take great care of you. The Spanakopita is a delicious start, we had two gyros and could barely finish them. The price for the amount of food is great as well.

Excellent food! I really enjoyed the beef/lamb gyro platter, and the saganaki was good. Location is ok but this place is a hidden gem! Highly recommend you try them out.

  • Jennifer M.

The hummus and pita were amazing for an app. Everyone but me got the gyros and loved it. I got the spanokopita plate and potatoes amd it was delicious. It was not a place with atmosphere but the food was excellent.

"I've had better" about sums it up. Bland boring basic hummus, weak salads, and tough chewy meats (both chicken & lamb) left my wife and I very disappointed. The final bill solidified our decision of no need to ever eat here again. I love Greek food; gyros, lamb, kabobs, z sauce, all of it. Unfortunately, this place just failed in all aspect on the plate.

Very good. Genuine Greek food. Family run I think. Have always been happy with every meal and wait staff is very friendly. And their deserts are out of this world good.

I had the village gyro and it was fine, if unspectacular. Best part was the nice thick tsatsiki. My husband's Greek burger, however, was horrible. Way overdone, the onions were raw (they were supposed to be grilled) . and a cold slab of feta was slapped unceremoniously on top. Tasted awful and showed complete indifference to quality. Won't eat here again.

I tried this place yesterday for the first time. I ordered a gyro with a side salad. The gyro was so huge I could barely finish it. I have never had a gyro with that much meat. I ordered a side of tzatziki sauce because there was hardly any on it. I like onions but they had a little to much onion on it. Other than that the food was great and I'll be back for another gyro!

I was in the area, doing some serious window shopping and asked for a great place to eat (that wasn't franchise). Now, it took me awhile to even make a decision on eating here because I've had home cooked authentic Greek food overseas and therefore fully spoiled by what it is supposed to taste like. Soooo....I don't know quite how to feel about the food. It's not bad...but it could be better. As usual, when visiting an establishment for the first time, I kept it simple and went with the chicken gyro and fries. Hot, check. Juicy, check. I agree with Jennifer S. in regards to it be drowned in tzatziki sauce. That wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't so....*yawn*. lol I tried to like it, I really did but it was sooo boring! Even the fries were hot and crispy pieces of Meehh. Then they gave me a complimentary order of rice pudding. I never had rice pudding before but have always been curious about it..........never again. I don't know if it was the way they served it or if it's supposed to taste like paper mache mix but I'm not looking forward to trying it again...anywhere. Now, usually I don't give an establishment a 2nd try if my palate isn't excited from the 1st but for some reason I am willing to go back 1 more time (if I am in the area) and order something else. I have no idea why! Maybe it's because whatever they were whipping up on the grill smelled fantastic and like I stated before, it's not like the food was horrible. Oh well...I will be sure to let yawl in on my 2nd experience but for now, The Greek Village was swing 'n' a miss for me.

We Just ate at Greek Village. Wonderful Family Atmosphere. The Grape Leaves were the Best ever Fresh, and HOMEMADE. Desserts--wow-- HOMEMADE, strawberry or lemon cake so moist and delicious. Portions are huge, have take home.

I wanted to like this place, I really did. I called in a to-go order at dinner time. The food was ready when they said it would be (a big plus for me) and the woman who helped me was very nice. I just wasn't impressed by the gyro. It was smothered in tzatziki sauce (which I normally love). Problem is the tzatziki tasted like they had just thrown onions in a blender until it made a sauce. I am a fan of onions but it was WAY too much.

Some of the food is different and require an open mind... But it is so delicious and that baklava dessert is addicting

My visit was on my fiances birthday (happy birthday baby 9/23/14) and she wanted to try Greek food. As I approached the restaurant(which is not appealing from the outside) I witnessed (through the window) the Owner/chef smoking a cigarette in the kitchen. We're both smokers so we entered because we wanted to try the food and was told it was good. Apparently we went on the wrong day because each of the items we tried were much less than good. From Undercooked to overcooked nothing was good.... at all.... The apparent owners treat their employees terrible(it's a small place so u can hear everything they say/yell) I would not let our daughter work there for a first job much less any job at all. We tipped our server around 25% because we felt sorry for her having to work in that environment. Will never go back.... ever... If I could give zero stars I would!!

Meh. I've experienced better. The Greek salad doesn't even have pepperoncini. The sweet tea was horrible

Great food. This place is owned by the folks who used to own the other Greek place in OP but sold it. I am so glad that they are back in business. The food is very flavorful and the portions are huge. Everything that my family and I have tried has been great. No complaints at all. We have had really good gyros and lamb when we have eaten there. The owners are friendly too. If you like Greek food, this place is great!

The Greek trio was out of bounds!!! It was enough food that we split it. The moussaka was awesome and the cheese appetizer was very tasty. Jacksonville has great cuisine! OPA, indeed!!

This is our go-to place if we don't know what to make for dinner. Wether its for take-out or dine-in, the staff is very friendly and the place seems very clean. Our 3 year old calls it "The Blue Restaurant". The decor is simple pictures of Greece, and casual blue and white checker table cloths. Everything we've ordered has been very tasty, but our staple order for take-out is always the Chicken Suvlaki. Its full of tzaziki sauce and onions and tomatoes and the flat bread is very fresh. For Dine-In I like to order the fish, while my husband gets the Gyro platter with the Greek Potatoes. The soup is good, but could be a bit more lemon-y.

This is my favorite Greek restaurant. The service is always excellent, and I can count on the food be delicious and prepared expertly. My usual is the Greek salad, a mixed salad with homemade Greek dressing with onion, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, green pepper, black olives and mixed greens topped with gyro meat. A grilled pita is served on the side. And I always order an extra order of tzatziki sauce. This is when I have time to sit and eat. My fast food choice is a gyro with tomatoes and onions and a side of fries. I have had their Greek combo, chicken, pork and gyro meat. That is a meal big enough to share, I don't care what your appetite is. My grown children rave about the lemon soup and the hummus.

I had high hopes for this place. I LOVE Greek food, and in my opinion The Greek Village just did not deliver; its flavors just did not compare to other Greek places i've frequented. We started off with the Avgolemono soup - it was soo cold in there! Now normally I love this soup as well, but TGV's was just a glorified Chicken & Rice Soup. There was no flavor, no tanginess of the lemon. But at least the chicken was tender and I was able to substitute it for my fries. For my main I got the Turkey and Lamb Gyro with a Greek Salad ($3.99) on the side. Now the Greek Salad: probably the biggest disappointment. It was a tiny garden salad with two olives and some feta on top, with a tub of dressing that lacked any flavors but sweet. Ick and overpriced. The gyro was... meh. As advertised it came loaded with tomato, chopped onion and tzaziki. The tomatoes were lovely and fresh, everything else: Meh. The meat was underseasoned and the tzaziki was just yogurt and cucumber: there was no dill, no garlic, no lemon. Meh. My mother got a side order of the Greek Potatoes (a bit of lemon, but mushy and craaaazy salty) and the Meat Platter: gyro meat (still Meh), an overcooked chicken breast (Meh) and the saving graces: two beautifully seasoned and tender pork chops. Unfortunately, too little, too late. If you find yourself at TGV, go for one of the amazing looking subs, but steer clear of the Greek food.

Food was good, service excellent. I'd been working in the yard earlier so felt a little under dressed (aka grubby) but we were treated as gracefully as the gentleman in a suit a few tables away. For some reason, lemon seemed to be a flavor in every dish we tried. The lemon sauce complemented the dolmathakia, but lemon seemed out of place on the entree. Not my favorite Greek stop but definitely worth a try to see if it's to your liking. Portions are quite large and so very filling. Go when hungry or expect a doggy bag.

Fast service, friendly employees, and a great place for a meal. I got 5 dishes for my meal not including my complementary greek salad! That was only $14.99! Try a gyro (euro)! They're delicious! :)
